"Hello Future _" — a play on the first DOS prompt, Hello World, the baseline of all computer languages. The blinking cursor, the symbol that has meant possibility since the first command line, of input, of authorship. This is not branding. It is invocation. Built in 2016 in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, Hello Future was never designed as charity or aid. It was designed as a system for teaching agency — the belief that you can write the next line of your own life. That the future is writable. One year of research, nine years of program design, teacher training, implementation in refugee camps and beyond, 4000 youths reached and 150 courses taught across the Middle East to date, all built on a philosophical artifact rather than a mission statement.
